Santiago

I arrived here after an overnight bus trip at about 7.30am on Sunday last week. Being a bit sleepy still, I wondered why all the shops were shut and why there was a queue to get into the metro. What kind of city is this? I thought.....duh.

The bottom image insided Museo Chileno de Arte Precolumbino shows chemamull statues that the Mapuche used to put over graves. There was a big ceremony in making them beforehand. I am not sure whether this is still in practice today.
