Salta, Argentina

The bus ride from San Pedro de Atacama (Chile) to Salta in Argentina took 12 hours but was quite scenic. Border control was a bit more relaxed this time, but  I didn´t have any chia seeds to confiscate anyway. Salta is a colonial city with a lot of spanish influenced architecture. It´s also very touristy and I found it a bit disapointing (althought it is lovely) after the excitement of San Pedro de Atacama. I went for a run up to the top of Cerro San Bernardo but the view was really disappointing because it was cloudy. I also went to a really fascinating museum about the Inca journey from Columbia to Argentina along the Andes. There was also an interesting (and quite gruesome) part where there was an actual child mummy which was one of the three children found that were sacrificed to the Mountains which was important in Inca culture. There would have been many more than 3 but these have been miraculously preserved. They were drugged after a ceremony and kind of left to ´go to sleep´ in their mountain burial.
